ACIM Update
A month and a few days have gone by since I started.
It’s been over 4 weeks since I started A Course in Miracles. Or rather restarted ACIM. How is it going? How is it different this time? Do I see an effect in my life as I do at the very least the daily lessons in the workbook? The answer is it is going well. I have done the workbook lessons at least a couple of times a day. What is interesting this time is there are more resources available than there were 5 years ago when I did this the last time. For one thing, the entire text is online at https://acim.org/acim/en you don’t even need to own the physical book! You can also listen via audiobook, but this is nice because everything and then some is available on that website. I keep it open in a tab on my laptop. And I keep the daily lesson open on that tab…so it is in my face…literally as a reminder. There is also the option to have it read to you....and yes, I do that quite often after reading the lesson first thing in the morning as part of my morning routine. There are apps available for our phones…and yes! I have one downloaded too. Just in case I need a reminder when I’m out and about. Most of the lessons want you to practice a few times a day. So having multiple versions available certainly helps because you never know when or where you will be when you have a moment to practice. Another thing that is now available as of this year is cool, it is ACIM World Dance. The lessons are put to music, danceable music! We all know upbeat music helps the mind and the brain learn things. At first, I wasn’t sure what to think about it, but after listening to the last 35 lessons yeah, I have to say it helps me remember what the lesson is sometimes. It’s worth checking out if you haven’t stumbled across it

I consistently read the daily lesson, and have made it part of my morning routine, it is as much a part of my morning as my morning pages! Most of the lessons only take a couple of minutes to read in all honesty. We can all spare a minute or two. Am I reading the text? Yes. I am. But not every day. Mostly because I don’t have the time some days. On the days I do have some time, I make it at least 20 minutes! Because to be honest, the text is a bit deep to read. There’s a lot of information in the text that requires a lot of deeper thought, and time to digest it all.
What’s interesting for me, is since I did ACIM back in 2019, I have deepened my yoga studies and have done 100 hours of study of the Yoga Sutras and when I read some of these lessons, I find myself drawing comparisons and parallels with what I learned about the yoga sutras. So, this furthers my stance that all philosophies are saying the same thing in different forms!
Would I recommend starting ACIM? Even though it's February now? Absolutely! Here’s the thing, I started my last journey in 2019 mid-year due to a stressful situation that happened, and I one day found the book “magically” in my hand again. I don’t remember taking it off my bookshelf but at one point I must have, because I was in the middle of a bunch of things and found that I had included it in the books I had pulled! The Universe was trying to tell me something, I guess. Sometimes we need to listen to the signs that come to us when they do.
If you need a support person to start ACIM or continue your journey, let me know! We can do this together!
